On Thursday June 11th ANC 6C commissioner Keith Silver announced plans to picket construction sites for upcoming projects in his SMD. Silver planned to take this action as a response to his perception of the failures of the DC First Source Agreement.Last night Silver issued a retraction. His statement says he met with several government agencies, including the Department of Employee Services (DOES), to discuss his objections.
I am confident, under the purview of the Office of the Deputy Mayor of Economic Development, Council of the District of Columbia, and DOES Administration, they are very capable and qualified, along with of course, ....concientious ANC Commissions and Commissioners,.. to assure appropriate percentatages for DC Residents, will reach the qualified job applicants and candidates.

In the continued saga of Silver vs DOES our commissioner has changed his mind yet again. After discussing with fellow church congregants on Sunday Silver is once again determined to picket construction sites.
His announcement states the picketing will take place 6:30 am to 8:30 am Daily, Monday thru Friday, "Rain or Shine" at the corner of North Capitol and "K" Sts. N.W.
I don't plan to continue to post on this topic with each memo that hits my email inbox. But will monitor from afar.
