What news I can share is that there is now a trash transfer station on the site which wasn't in the satellite and streetview images I previously presented. I don't travel this road segment regularly, and I could be mistaken, but I believe this station was not in place around inauguration time.

What a terrible eyesore. We really need to approach the ANC about this awful monstrosity & ask that something be done about cleaning this parcel up.

This Trash Transfer station is operated by the Downtown DC BID. Much to my surprise it's been there for 3 years...
No matter what one thinks of it as an eyesore - it is important to distinguish that this is used as a collection point for trash that the Clean Teams pick up from our streets. That is fundamentally different than waste from a private entity.
