The new poll asks our readers what is the automobile situation of their households. I recently read an uncited fact that 40% of DC residents live in a car-free household. This led me to wonder how the Triangle stacks up. Remember to answer the question based on your household. Any car ownership in your household equates to "Own a car" even if you may personally not own a car.
The poll choices are:
- Own a car
- Own only a motorcycle or scooter
- Own a segway
- Do not own an auto but participate in Car-sharing service
- Do not own an auto and do not participate in Car-sharing service

Does anyone feel like this new construction has too much parking? I dont think its a good thing...
should you add "own multiple cars" to the list?
because i live in an apartment with one roommate, and we each have a car. i guess that makes us a two-car household then.
agreed, we have a car and a motorcycle. Somehow i think the cars are going to win out, especially over that one guy who has the segway:)
Yes, cars will win out. The idea behind this poll wasn't to figure out what would win. The goal was more to gain insight into the mix of autos.
