Google Beta: Walking directions

Google now offers walking directions as a beta add on to Google Maps. Driving directions are impractical to use for walking because they obey one-way streets and no-left turn signs. Now there is an answer for peds.

Maybe one day Google walking directions will be smart enough to emulate pedestrian behavior like cutting diagonally through the Building Museum parking lot to get to Metro entrance. =)
