Mount Vernon Triangle Maps From The Past - Part 2

Same concept as the previous post. This time from looking at the City Vista Plot. Vantage point is West to East.

Very cool! Unfortunately still more parking lots than I'd like to see. Makes the 'hood seem a bit disjointed. I wonder what it's like for those folk living on the northern side of the triangle when they cross it to go to the metro every day.

hmmm...

Yeah, still more parking lots than you'd like to see. Most of those lots on K-Street are owned by the Quadrangle Development Corporation (QDC) and part of their Mount Vernon Place master plan as office buildings.

The Master plan shows 5 office buildings along K St. There is also a mixed use building across the street from the Madrigal Lofts on Eye St. Hopefully they stay committed to having retail on the first floor of these office buildings.

Unlike CityVista and the Dumont, Quadrangle didn't include retail at either the Sonata or the Madrigal, but the neighborhood will need it at their next 6 buildings to thrive. Ideally it's going to be restaurants and retail that is alot more interesting than merely a dry cleaners and a Quiznos.

That link I provided to the Master plan didn't really work. Try this:
