Nearby High Schools Dunbar and Gonzaga have started their 2008 Football seasons. Dunbar plays home games under the Friday Night Lights while it seems Gonzaga opts for Saturday afternoons.

Dunbar is a powerhouse program that travels across state lines to Ohio and PA to play other prominent national programs. In recent years the program has produced Vernon Davis, the sixth overall pick in 2006 NFL draft, and prominent college football players like Illinois wide receiver Arrelious Benn.
